This was John McCain best debate performance tonight. Was it good enough to give him a boost; probably a small bump in the polls. Obama looked very thin visually, and rattled at times. He smirked and laughed several times during McCain’s answers which did not help him. But by the second half of the debate he recomposed his remarkable velvet smoothness and finished relatively strong. Of course it helped that not a single, incredibly, not a single question in a presidential debate about foreign policy. How is that possible? McCain did not look as old and wheezy tonight, and he was much more focussed, however neither men truly has grasped the enornimity of the economic crisis and how it has played on the American mind. I’m amazed that McCain didn’t study this situation unfailingly and came out confidently and stridently with how he would weather this storm. But perhaps its just beyond the man.
